The Sketchbook Project - Tour 2011
I thought I would show off my sketchbook project. I am not quite finished yet, but I am nearing the end, I believe I have about 15 more sketches to do. So far it's been coming out alright, it's starting to feel rushed however. Deadlines must be met though. I've been doing every other page, as I feel the pages are just too thin. Well here's what I have so far.. Enjoy!

TelevisionBox, How it came to be
For those who have been wondering how I came up with the name TelevisionBox, this post will give you some insight of how I came to be the TelevisionBox.
A year or two now, I don't remember the date. Whenever I drove into the garage at my house, I would notice this little cute piggy bank on the shelf in the garage. I've never noticed it before, until that day. I believe the garage was cleaned up a couple days before hand. For awhile, I left it where it was, not knowing where it came from. But, I do have a suspicion that it came from my grandpas house, a very long time ago.
One day.. I finally did take it off the shelf, and I put it on my shelf above my computer monitor. The box itself turned inspiring for me. I like the way it looked, I liked the way it was designed, the font was creative, the television was old school. Soon it became my internet persona.
And, that is how the name TelevisionBox came to be.

PeculiarBliss!
A couple of days ago now, I got onto the PeculiarBliss.com front page! Here is a link to my artwork! It is very exciting to get exposure from another website. I'm not sure why I chose this sketch to share, but I'm happy I did, as the website is all about doodles, and images.
"PeculiarBliss.com is a stream of doodles and images, featuring creative, original works from sketchbooks and other mediums into one location, with the hope to inspire continued creative thinking." via PeculiarBliss.com. Check it out!

I literally own a television box!
Hello everyone,
I now have a television box! I bought an "Western Digital - TV Live" it is pretty neat. It lets me view pictures, watch my movies, listen to internet radio, watch youtube videos, and look at flickr photos! It is really neat! I can do all of this off my usb stick/usb external hard drive, or the good olde internet! Plus, it is fully HD, which will be pretty cool if I get an HD TV. :) Here is a link to the website, to give it a look at.

The, a typography experience.
Sitting at my table with a marker, and a piece of paper that had some errors on it. I decided to start with the word "the". I then, kept on drawing 'the' in different type styles. My favourite one is definitely the very slanted one, the third one down on the left. Which is your favourite? Also, my friend Mallius got me a calligraphy set with 3 beautiful nibs, and 3 different colour inks, purple, blue, and of course black. I haven't opened it up yet, but soon I will be using it, and drawing some very amazing calligraphy. Thank you again. :)

TelevisionBox
Hello everyone,
Here is another update. I have did a little work of calligraphy without an proper pen. I instead used a fine tipped marker, and a sharpie for the bottom portion. You gotta make do with what you got! I think it looks sort of fancy, it isn't my best work ever though. But, I'll certainly get better.

I got my mojo back!
Hello everyone.
I seem to be getting back into drawing, sort of. I've been drawing just lots of fun things nothing serious right now, I'm just doing this for myself. I actually sort of an obsession with drawing plugs for wall sockets. It's sort of strange, but I am strange. I hope to have more posts, more often, and of more importance of course. I hope to have set up an etsy shop shop soon selling some of my things. We'll see of course. Plus, I got to get more calligraphy to show you.

An update, at last!
As the header states, Hello! It's been a while since I have updated anything at all. So I thought hey, let's scan some sketches from my sketchbook and make a post about it.
I have been trying to explore calligraphy lately. I have been learning online, I have a nice fountain pen I am trying to create calligraphy with. However, I do not want to scan my samples of my work just yet. Here is something sort of related to it, just not done in the fountain pen. Plus, it has been raining these past days, so it has to deal with the rain aswell!
And here is a random drawing I did today. It really means nothing, and the television sort of looks cool. I started to draw a heart, then I put some fluffy sides to the heart, and the words "Country Haven" popped into my mind.

I thought this image I did back in 2008 would be very appropiate for this weeks word. As butterflies come out of cocoons.

A collection of notepads
For my final project, my teacher told me I could do anything, and that was sort of a challenge for me, as I need some guidelines. I had a few ideas to start off with, such as my poetry booklet I was going to do. However, those ideas, did not interest me about 2 weeks into the project. So, I had to quickly react to as what I was going to do. I asked my teacher for suggestions and he said to do some stationary. I really enjoyed the idea of stationary. He showed me some artists as well, that sort of draw like I do. Which I found to be very interesting.
Well, here is my stationary, I really do hope you enjoy it. It was quite the process, I used Illustrator for the line work, and photoshop for the colour, and some clean up, if needed.
Office Supply Party Notepads
Picnic Planning Notepads
Telephone Messaging Notepads
Rough Work
These my rough works for my stationary. In the second picture you can slightly notice my Hot Chocolate stain, just in case you were wondering what it was. It is also on my front page a bit, even though it landed on the opposite side. It was the morning, I had hot chocolate, it is sometimes a deadly combination.
I hope you truly enjoyed this. :)

IF: Rescue (Lost Identity)
A picture I did in class. As I can not exactly concentrate on the task at hand. But, it's something that is really cool, I really like that I made this. It makes me happy to get whatever I had on my mind, and put it into a drawing. (My thoughts are never clear.) There is also some poetry that I made before making this which I have posted below.
Lost Identity
I feel that I lost myself,
within the day,
within the hours.
Where did I go to?
I do not feel as myself,
I do not feel as I should,
This feeling hasn't seem to fade away.
But, why do I feel this way?
I feel as a lost shadow,
looking for a person to become.
To become a human being.
Why have I lost my identity?

Postcard!
Hello Monday,
I seem to have got much accomplished on this monday. I got many things done such as, my active citizenship project, and I did my drawing test today successfully. Also, I finally got this postcard done. I was unsure of what to do for the back image. However, I pulled up some of my crazy shape work from a couple of years ago, and placed that on the back.
So, here it is my postcard.. for my self promotion.
Enjoy!

Blog Header!
Hello everyone,
I now have a blog header. It's pretty spiffy. This graphic was done on CorelDraw x4 using the power clip feature, and of course I had to add the television to it, as this is the televisionbox blog.
Tell me what you think of it.
Also... here is the original without the black, and the antenna still on the television.

Toast man with PB&J
Hello everyone. I thought I would show you a little piece of my insanity via the internet. I've been drawing these really elementary looking guys alot lately, and I still have no clear idea way. I really dislike peanut butter, it disgusts me. Though, jam is alright when it is on some english muffins. Eh, I guess whatever makes me happy. :)

Really Basic Thumbnails - Storyboard Creation - Part One
This is the starting of my storyboard for a commercial about Trix cereal.
To start this process, I first watched a lot of Trix commercials, on various websites, such as youtube.com. I also found some reading, which I skimmed through of course about Trix, and how it came to be and what not. I then wanted to follow along with the traditional theme of "Silly Rabbit, Trix are for kids". However, I played on the words to advertise it to adults, rather then children. And, there you have it, my really basic thumbnails for my Trix cereal commerical. Hurrah

Snorgtees.com Advertisement
Hello everyone. It's been a couple of days since I posted anything. So here is my post.
I made this advertisement back in 2007 for a ad competition for snorgtees.com. I won second place in this contest. The design that is on the advertisement is a shirt that is sold on snorgtees.com. I liked the t-shirt a lot, and it also worked very well with a sidebar type of ad.
At this time I deciding was what I should do with my life/career, and I believe this advertisement was the driving force of what made me interested in Graphic Design.

Cereal Magazine Ad
Hello everyone. Hope everyone is well. Sorry I haven't posted for awhile.
Anyways... To follow up with my previous Trix post.. here is the final result of what I created using Photoshop CS3, and a pencil. I will show in stages of my creative process.
Step 1
I first found a picture of the Trix bunny from the 70s I then drew it as it from the photo I have found on the internet. Also, while doing this I was thinking of some slogans for my magazine ad.
Step 1.2
I noticed the picture did look kind of odd, so I changed the outer stroke to just a normal stroke, and changed some features as they looked a bit wonky.
Step 2
I then added colour digitally to the Trix bunny to make him more childlike. I also drew him childlike, to give it more of a feel of childhood. I think he came out pretty decent.
Step 3 - Final Step
I then added some disco styled text, and alittle bit of skating rink, so that he has a place to skate on with his rollerblades. Added the box at the bottom, so the viewers understand what the adverstisement is about. And, there we have it, a magazine ad with the Trix bunny from the 70s.
Comments anyone?

Illustration Friday, on a Thursday.
Here is my illustration for wilderness. Going into this I really had no idea of what I was going to do. But, I started up my trusty Photoshop 7.0 program, plugged in my wacom tablet and worked away. It was done with only three brushes. Hope you enjoy.

Trix
Trix are for kids, or adults. It doesn't really matter anymore. Sorry I didn't post yesterday, I have really got a chance to be on the computer at all really. I was doing life things, which included getting smoothies with coupons, and having a stranger tell me I should "comb my hair". Strange yesterday, indeed.
Anywho, I am doing my cereal project ad that is marketed towards adults. It's turning out I guess. I am doing a drawing of the Trix bunny from the 70s. Which I think is pretty funny. So.. Here is my drawing for it, oh and I thought you would like to see my art station aswell, yes it is on my bed. Sorry for the gross webcam images, I can't seem to find my camera anywhere.

Peace.
Hello everyone. I hope everyone has enjoyed television history last night. It was the telethon for Hope of Haiti. I'm not sure how much they made in the end, but it was surely pretty cool to watch. It was also Conan O'Brien's last show with NBC last night. He will surely be missed by many fans/watchers including myself.
Peace of Haiti, and of course... Peace out Conan, peace out.
